The PJC softball team will play in the first round of the state tournament on Friday, May 2, against St. Petersburg College. The Lady Pirates enter the tournament as a No. 3 seed while St. Petersburg is a No. 2 seed.
"We're very excited about taking this group of student athletes to the state tournament," said Head Coach Brenda Pena.

After the PJC baseball team finished the season with an astonishing record of 41-6 and has been named the top team in the nation for four straight weeks, post-season expectations are high. The Pirates, who are going to the state tournament for the first time since 2005, are out to prove that the best regular season in PJC history was no fluke.
